April 23-26: Dawson Creek Kiwanis Trade Show. Both Get Dawson Creek Green and the Dawson Creek Community Gardens had booths at the Dawson Creek Kiwanis Trade Show. Interested visitors signed up for energy efficiency assessments and garden plots. The deep interest in becoming more energy efficient and in the many alternative energy options was very evident. Apr 10 - 11 - Dawson Creek Gun Show: Get Dawson Creek Green partnered with Sweetwater Knives at the Dawson Creek Gun Show. This was a very well attended two day event where the Get DC Green team answered questions, offered information, and booked energy efficiency assessments. March 27, 2010 - 10am-3pm: Sunsational Solutions Event Sustainable Energy Solutions for Home and Farm was a great success. Hundreds of people of all ages and from all walks of life streamed through this alternate energy 'mini trade show'. With manned booths, several presentations, plenty of technology on hand, as well as some entertainment, a BBQ and draw prizes, this event was greatly enjoyed by everyone.Industry experts on solar, geo thermal, and wind technology demonstrated and explained working alternate energy systems and answered questions non-stop! March 8, 2010: Second edition of the Get Dawson Creek Green e-newsletter released. March 4, 2010: NoonPresentation - Dawson Creek Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. January 19 and 22, 2009: Rotary Luncheon - Presentation December 14, 2009, 9:00 a.m.: Delegation to the City of Dawson Creek Council Meeting. Representatives introduced Get Dawson Creek Green and our objectives and goals to Mayor and Council. December 10, 2009: First edition of the Get Dawson Creek Green Newsletter Released. November 20, 2009: Place at the Table Concert - Get us Green partnered with the Peace Region Songwriters' Association, assisting with the concert and offering information on the program and assessments. November 12, 2009: Green Shopping Workshop, The Kiwanis Performing Arts Center: Get Dawson Creek Green and the Northern Environmental Action Team partnered to present this workshop on how to help the environment with your shopping power. The movie "The Story of Stuff" was viewed and there were great discussions, draw prizes, and refreshments. Special Guest Speaker was Sally Emory from the Northern Environmental Action Team.
